Nestled across 55 acres of ski and board terrain in the majestic hills of the Discovery Region, White Hills Resort has the proud distiction of being called "Eastern Newfoundland's Winter Playground".
Remarkably short lift lines plus our dedicated staff combine to make our resort more beginner friendly, ensuring first time visits are even more pleasurable. Relax and enjoy a meal in our fully licensed restaurant, or sip a hot drink from our bar while watching the sun set over some of the best groomed trails in Atlantic Canada. Have a great time this season and bring the whole family or invite your staff and co-workers out for a brisk day of winter entertainment.
The Hills Are Alive
We offer a variety of downhill trails* and glades that reach to over 750 vertical feet, as well as over 40 km of the best cross-country trails in Newfoundland spread from the base of the resort. Our Bombardier BR-275 grooming machine and our increased snow production of 85% coverage provides patrons with a satisfying riding experience second to none.
Once again, we have expanded our operations and have opened new terrain to challenge more experienced skiers and boarders. Back Country Glades plus a new Terrain park and two extra runs for your enjoyment, Mills Siding and Nature Trail. Boarder-cross competions will be held periodically over the upcoming season on the gladed Nature Trail. Check our Events Calendar for updates.
Glade Trails
Want the freshest powder? Think you can handle riding through the back country? Our Glade Trails are open to the public and the more experienced among you can take advantage of our backwoods trails. Cliff drops, chutes, and steeps await as you make your own way down the mountain. Ungroomed and unpatrolled, riders who use our glades do so at their own risk.
Nordic Ski Trails

All cross country trails and loops are marked, interconnected, and groomed where possible. White Hills Resort features "Harry’s Loop" (3.5 km) around Dark Hole Pond as well as 5 km and 7.5 km loops for an extended journey. All trails are Color-Coded Blue.
Non-members must purchase a Nordic Ski day pass, while members of the Clarenville Nordic Ski Club can ski on all of the groomed trails free of charge.
In addition to the White Hills Nordic Trails, the Club have developed and maintain a number of loops and trails which combine to a distance of over 40 km. Please see their website for a more detailed map and trail descriptions.
SnowShoe Adventure Trails

Our first Snowshoe Adventure Trail runs approximately 3 kilometers through the scenic wilderness around White Hills Resort, intersecting with our Nordic Ski Trails. Come and witness first-hand the calm hush of winter and untouched natural splendor of eastern Newfoundland's Discovery Region.
Partially looping around the edge of Dark Hole Pond and returning through a woody glade, enjoy an afternoon with the whole family on a snowbound hike amidst the quiet flora and fauna of Winter's natural beauty.
SnowShoe Rentals
Snowshoes are mandatory on our Adventure Trails and rentals are available from our Rental Shop at a cost of $10.00 for 1/2 day and $15.00 for a full day. Trail passes are included in the rental fee. Please inquire about group availability.
Organizations and Staff
Our friendly and experienced staff, and ski and snowboard instructors are eager to assist you however possible offering a wide range of programs to meet your needs. We offer the Snow Stars Youth Program, the White Hills Snow School, an Alpine Race Team, and the Clarenville Area Nordic Ski Club
